Our journey to Columbus has not been a straight path. We came to seminary planning to head west to plant a church in Seattle, Washington, but after continuing to seek the Lord and remain open to His leading, He changed our hearts. He has now given us a desire to reach souls in our home state’s capital. Ever since he was a teenager living in a suburb of Columbus, Nick has sensed a need for a Bible-centered, missional community in the heart of Columbus. We look forward to joining with old friends and new to create a relevant church community in a city that is in great need of gospel witnesses.
Columbus is in a county of over 1 million souls. It is the headquarters of Ohio State University, which trains over 52,000 students that go out into all parts of the world. The city is wide open for new churches. As with most cities the church has largely made its way to the suburbs, leaving the city with fewer churches, and even fewer biblical ones.
Ohio is our home state. We love it! We want to see the gospel penetrate not only the city but far beyond. It is clear that God has been preparing us for this great journey even though we thought he had other plans. (see demographics)

We would have never imagined that our desire to radically follow Christ would lead us to Columbus, OH. Our first meeting came in 2004 in Fort Collins, CO at a Campus Crusade for Christ team leadership conference for missionary team leaders preparing to be sent all over the world. We both pioneered and developed campus movements for two years, Brad was in in the United Kingdom and Russia and Courtney was in Macedonia. Following our return to the US, Brad moved to Columbus to propose to Courtney and we began seeking the Lord together for where He would call us. It was just after we were engaged that Nick and Brittany asked us to consider joining them to plant Veritas Community Church in Columbus. While this was not at all what we imagined the Lord would call us to, we both quickly realized that He was. We are now seeking after God's heart to glorify himself in the lives of those who don't yet know him and raise up a missional church that worships Him in spirit and in truth.
