Service
Jesus acknowledged that he did not come to this earth to be served but to serve. He is widely known as the servant of all. It was Jesus’ plan from the beginning of time that we would be a people that served each other regardless of class, race or social status. We do not want to see Jesus as merely a moral example but as one who has extended His grace to us that we may serve others and point them to Him. As both the Old and New Testaments give us repeated commands that we are to serve and love the poor, we do not want to neglect loving those who have nothing material to offer in return. (Lev. 23:22; Mark 10:45; John 13:8; 1 Peter 4:11)
